And lift your mood!

What better way to lift your mood than to create something new, tactile and inspiring, based on your ‘happy’ colour.

Create a Colour Mood Board

It’s fun, easy to do, can be enjoyed at home and will leave you feeling restored and optimistic.

Step 1

Choose a colour which makes you happy!

Step 2

Have fun sourcing any magazine tear outs, brochure images, fabrics, wallpaper samples, accessories or even household items in your chosen colour.

Various tints, tones and shades of the colours will add interest to your board.

Step 3

Collate your items together, to make it look as aesthetically-pleasing as possible.

Step 4

If you have an art board or something similar (a large cereal box will do!), then mount and glue your items to your board.

Stand back and admire. And congratulate yourself on your new-found colour skills!

Online Interior Design Courses

If you’ve enjoyed this task, remember that learning about colour, its tints, tones, shades and understanding colour proportions are all part of being a successful interior designer.

That’s why it’s one of the first things we ask our students to create, when they enrol on an online interior design course with us.
