Crown Paints Launch Their Spring and Summer Paint Trends 2020

Crown Paints have revealed their colour trends for Spring and Summer 2020.

We wanted to share them with you and see what you think?

In a series of colour palettes, Crown Paints have based their predictions on ideas and philosophies.

Here we reveal some of their colour predictions, which Crown believe will influence our decorating choices this spring and summer. To inspire you, we’ve selected some similar colour palettes used by our students in their design schemes.

Bold and Unexpected

This ‘direct’ trend of decorating is all about being rebellious and not following the ‘rules’. Instead, add some contrast and statement blocks of colour.

As Judy Smith, Crown Colour Consultant, explains: “To piece together a look inspired by this trend, use differing weights of colour to create a dynamism and tension, whether connecting one room to another or adding a block of contrast across natural architectural boundaries.”

Into the Blue

We think our student Alice’s striking blue and yellow mood board certainly meets this ‘direct’ trend of decorating with bold colours.

Alice is a student on our online interior design course, My Colour Consultancy Course. She is training to become a Certified Colour Consultant with us, here at My Interior Design School.

Fresh and Playful

‘Revival’ is a mint green and forms part of Crown’s ‘Rethink’ palette.

The idea behind this range is focussed on sustainability and recycling.

Our student Caroline’s mood board shows a similar palette, showcasing her designs for this living room scheme.

Peaceful and Natural

What do you think of our student Dawn’s living room design scheme based on neutrals and green?

We think it complements Crown’s ‘Peaceful and Natural’ ethos, inspired by the idea of Shinrin-yoku, a Japanese philosophy centred around forest bathing,

Their colour palette of khakis to gentle olive green draws its palette from nature.
