Our Top 5 (6 Actually) Interior Design Events To Visit in 2019

Nothing beats a real live event where you can see the latest interior design trends and hear from industry experts.

We’ve put together our Top 5 shows to visit and here’s why we recommend them:

1.The Ideal Home Shows

We are a bit biased here as Anne and Rachael, the Directors of My Interior Design School are regular Guest Speakers at the Spring and Christmas Ideal Home Shows (These are 2 separate events – hence our Top 6 List)!

Taking place at the magnificent Olympia Halls in Hammersmith, London this is the longest-running and award-winning consumer home interiors event in Europe.

At the Spring show you can visit actual houses, see the latest gadgets, discover the latest home improvement products, buy things for your garden and hear talks on upcycling, cooking and home styling.

Anne and Rachael deliver their illustrated talk ‘Colour in the Home’ from the Main Stage and attract hundreds of visitors to listen to their top tips and advice.

The Ideal Home Show at Christmas is a real treat and worth a visit for the Good Homes Magazine room-sets alone.

Bedecked in festive décor, the hall has a fabulous Yuletide atmosphere, with Christmas carol singers, mulled wine, festive food and hundreds of stalls selling gifts for young and old.

Anne and Rachael offer their expert styling tips for your home for Christmas and visitors can enjoy a Champagne Bar, when shopping gets too tiring.

5. The Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair

This family-owned fair launched in 1985 and was the first to specifically unite the antiques and interior design trades.  Today they hold three events a year: a Winter Fair in January, a Spring Fair in April and an Autumn Fair during the busy ‘design season’ in late September.

We love the charm of this event, where you can buy directly from the exhibitors, be inspired by the eclectic mix of decorative antiques and enjoy a cup of tea and cake in the café!
