Have you heard of tablescaping?
Not sure what it is?
Want to know more?
Tablescaping has become a massive interiors phenomenon, where ‘scapers’ create showpiece table settings.
These theatrical table designs are now considered an art form, where the table setting will look amazing in the all-important photos for Instagram.
So popular is this interiors trend, that Instagram has over 1.9m posts under the hashtag #tabledecor and 2.3m under #tablesetting.
With Christmas well in our sights now, we thought you might want to try some tablescaping yourself for the big day.
How to Do Tablescaping
You should be aiming for ‘professionally staged, but effortlessly stylish’ table settings, according to Katrina Burroughs, Interiors Editor of The Sunday Times.
Start with the tablecloth, which must look like a piece of art in itself. Then mix it up with abundance, so nothing matches. Try and pull the look together with a theme of sorts – vintage perhaps, and mix and match your glassware and cutlery.
An overall colour or look could complement your design, like we’ve shown you here with some Christmas and nature-inspired tablescapes.
How to Dress Your Christmas Dining Table
Tablescapes should add a dramatic and memorable table setting to welcome any friends and family this Christmas.
Candles in abundance will bring theatrical lighting to your table and we recommend accessories, flowers and greenery at different heights to add impact.
Rustic charm, sophisticated elegance or log cabin-inspired comfort and warmth. You choose, just don’t forget to add the turkey!
